Wikimedia Deutschland e. V. is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the dissemination of free knowledge by supporting projects such as Wikipedia and Wikidata. In the software development department we are building open source software that powers one of the most visited websites in the world which is used by thousands of people every day.

One of our projects is the development of products for the Technical Wishlist. As Product Manager (f/m) focused to the Technical Wishlist and other community products you will create new technical features with one of the largest open source communities for the German Wikimedia projects. On these projects, we work for more than ten years with currently 82 colleagues.

We are looking for a resilient, experienced, self-driven Product Manager (f/m) to join our development team on full time basis who works on the Technical Wishlist in Berlin or remote. The team is cross-functional and highly autonomous.

As a Product Manager (f/m) you will be working in a multi-stakeholder environment directly with our Wikipedia and Wikimedia Communities as well as with different internal project managers. You will take ownership of certain products from concept to launch. This involves:

  • (Re)defining product visions and ensuring empathic user centric doing and thinking.
  • Defining new and existing requirements and features together with stakeholders and prioritizing technical needs.
  • Strong, transparent and continuous communication with all stakeholders.
  • Agile project and product management.
  • Tracking, evaluation and reporting of product metrics.
  • German language skills required.

We are continuously working to improve our processes and methods. Therefore, you may attend local user group meetings during work time and are encouraged to do so. We are also active members and initiators of different meetups around Berlin. You will join international conferences and MediaWiki Hackathons to meet the Wikimedia Community. Initially, the job is limited to a one year temporary contract.
