Product Manager, Platform and Community Full-time

Bitwarden promotes better internet security and safety with an open source password management solution for individuals, teams, and business organizations.

As Product Manager, Platform and Community at Bitwarden, you will lead prioritization efforts in a wide array of areas, including improvements to platform architecture, supporting internal operations, and enabling community contributors. You constantly review the competitive landscape to understand opportunities for improvement. Ensuring product stability and quality will also be just as important as new feature development.

You will also build and deepen relationships with our diverse, open-source community. You will support our global community of contributors on GitHub and enable them to integrate successful PRs. You will be the eyes-and-ears into our community of developers. This can range from ensuring issues raised by the community get resolved by our product and engineering teams to being a critical partner to developers and providing product guidance. Bitwarden is a strong believer in open-source, and you’ll play a key part in advancing the community and making current and future projects successful.

This is an all-remote team with a preference for some overlap with US East and West coasts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
-Define and prioritize the roadmap for your product area
-Engage directly with customers and community members to discover and understand problems in the market
-Collaborate with engineering to understand and prioritize platform updates, technical debt, refactoring and stabilization initiatives
-Partner directly with our community of developers to provide code reviews and guide product development – their success is also our success!
-Oversee the merge and testing of community PRs
-Review issues raised in GitHub and other forums to prioritize appropriately with product and engineering teams
-Write clear, easy-to-understand product strategy and user flow documents, outlining problem and solution space for your initiatives to create shared understanding
-Define key metrics and business outcomes.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, customer success and go-to-market teams to ensure -successful product and feature launches
-Review and regularly communicate business performance post-launch.

WHAT YOU BRING TO BITWARDEN
-2+ years experience in product management. Candidates with significant development/engineering/DevOps experience will also be considered.
-Experience with open-source communities a strong plus
-Ability to empathize with the needs of customers as well as high emotional intelligence to build positive working relationships -with internal teams in a distributed working environment
-Extremely organized and able to make highly informed prioritization & trade off decisions with engineering
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-A growth mindset and a desire to learn from others
-Excitement and enthusiasm for open source and for better internet security
