Summary

The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a Project Manager to join our team, reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager on the Global Data & Insights team in the Technology Department. The role of the team is to support Wikimedia Foundation staff, leadership and board in using social data and analytics to learn from their work and improve decisions. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for organizing and scoping various data projects and shepherding them from inception to completion. You will help set project management standards for the Global Data & Insights team and play an integral role in project planning, scheduling, facilitating meetings, managing workload within the GDI team and with other teams, resourcing, and reporting for key data initiatives at the Wikimedia Foundation.

You are responsible for:

Facilitating a shared understanding of objectives and key results across diverse sets of projects.
Managing tasks and scheduling with several projects simultaneously.
Ensuring work quality and delivery for agreed-upon timelines for each project.
Interpreting needs and requirements, translating concepts into practice, identifying process improvement opportunities, quantifying results, and making recommendations to the team for future practices.
Coordinating meetings, note-taking, briefings, and other activities across the team.
Establishing and documenting project management standards for the team.
Skills and Experience:

3+ years of experience in project management.
The ability to work across multiple time zones and with teams and individuals representing various cultures and communication styles.
Excellent organizational skills in managing programs, projects, processes, calendars, and planning activities.
The ability to drive projects independently with limited feedback on a daily basis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for risk mitigation and identifying task dependencies.
Fluency in spoken and written English.

Additionally, we’d love it if you have:

PMP or MSP certification
Non-profit experience
Tech sector experience
Experience with the global Wikimedia Movement
Experience with international or multilingual data landscapes
Experience with international development, non-profit, or social movement research, and/or working with volunteers.
