About OpenSSL

The OpenSSL Project develops and maintains the OpenSSL software – a robust, commercial-grade, full-featured toolkit for general-purpose cryptography and secure communication. As an open-source endeavour, OpenSSL benefits from a global community of contributors who help to improve and secure the software. These contributors range from enthusiastic hobbyists to full-time professionals, all dedicated to the shared goal of providing high-quality security and privacy tools. While OpenSSL is not a large organisation, its work forms a crucial part of the infrastructure that makes secure online communication possible.

  • Conference Representation: Represent OpenSSL at industry conferences and events, delivering presentations and engaging with attendees to increase project visibility and cultivate relationships.
  • Outreach: Reach out to large companies, potential sponsors and other entities who might benefit from using OpenSSL.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with blogger-users and other individuals or entities who have written about OpenSSL, fostering a continuous stream of high-quality, relevant content.
  • Advocacy: Liaise with regulatory bodies to understand the impact of the proposed policies and regulation changes, as well as provide input to those bodies on behalf of OpenSSL and more broadly Open Source in general.
  • Feedback Collection: Gather and consolidate feedback and insights from the community to assist in future product development and enhancement.
  • Strategy Development: Assist us to develop content, messaging and communication strategies.
