Quality Assurance Engineer Full-time

We’re an open source organisation which builds software tools for media organisations all over the world. You will be a key member of the Quality Assurance team. We are an international, friendly and enthusiastic team. We love open source and have years of experience contributing to it.

Sourcefabric has been building digital, open source newsrooms for some of the world’s most innovative news organisations, in some of the most challenging media environments. We make open source tools and you have the chance to join the team and help us write better software that others will benefit from.

Ideally, you are located in Berlin. If you are located in a different European country you can still send us your application.

* To test our full range of professional tools for journalists and client implementations * Running builds in our Continuous Integration environment * Taking part of sprint meetings as part of our Agile process * Working with Product Owners/Managers on defining acceptance criteria * Filling in new test cases * Writing automated tests * Troubleshooting * Bug-triaging


* You care about quality * You have experience in testing of Web applications * You are familiar with Javascript, Python, PHP, AngularJS, unittest, lettuce, nose, Symfony, MySQL, MongoDB, Apache Solr, elasticsearch and others —at least you should know what they are and what they are good for.- * You have experience working in a development environment * You understand the software development cycle and all what that means * You speak fluent English


* Experience on TDD (Test Driven Development) * Experience working with Javascript frameworks that is a big plus * Knowledge and experience in server-side languages like Python * Most importantly, you are eager to learn and share


This is what we are looking for. You are a kick-ass QA engineer (or tester, or whichever way you prefer to be called), you are passionate about open source, you love web development, preventing issues and helping to solve those that have squeezed through!
