Software Engineer: Developer Tools Full-time

Work Location: Any SUSE office (or home office) worldwide.

At SUSE, we are passionate about Open Source and we are major contributors to many upstream projects. We are looking for a software developer who shares this passion to join our global engineering team and help create and maintain an awesome developer ecosystem at SUSE. You will join other engineers on our developer experience team with your focus on developer tools. Researching, learning and then improving Open Source developer tools such as IDE’s and CI systems by providing configuration and adaptations to seamlessly integrate with SUSE Linux Enterprise and openSUSE platforms. Also areas such as packaging frameworks used for web development and integrating them into our development processes such as SUSE’s open build service, CI systems, openQA, … If you want to play with the best Open Source development tools and help make them work better in a SUSE environment this is your opportunity.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE or equivalent
  • Experience developing on Linux
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team

Preferred Skills: Any of the following

  • Experience with OpenSUSE Build Service / RPM package format
  • Development experience in various programming languages.
  • Experience working with open source software and communities
