Getting paid
You will be a contractor responsible for raising an invoice each month via our Open Collective for payment.

Your main task is to record the requirements for multi-factor authentication at customers and to implement privacyIDEA.

You will conduct customer sessions on your own and independently.
You coordinate your appointments independently and attend the consulting meeting once a week.

How do you get there? – The onboarding

During the first weeks or months you will accompany colleagues at support, at the development and also at sales. This way you will be able to understand, what we are developing and which benefits we provide to the customers.

Your goals

Start by takting single, small steps. Depening on your learning capability

You will be able to work on simple standard setups like securing remote access via VPN/Firewalls and the RADIUS protocol.
Later you will dive into scenarios with Windows Login using the privacyIDEA Credential Provider.
Finally you will be able to work on rather complex scenarios adding 2nd factors to Web Single Sign on with IdPs like Keycloak and automated processes using more complex privacyIDEA policies, event handlers and scripts.

As a consultant you are the first face to the customer. You will also attend conferences and customer events.

What does it take?

Although we try to do an excessive onboarding you should bring some technical skills, social attributes and personal values.

Technical skills

You should have some unterstanding in the following areas: Linux, LDAP, AD, Mutli Factor Authentication, VPN, Firewall, SSO, SQL databases.

Your character

Are you equipped with a load of sociability and do you prefer an independent working style?

Job Description

We are looking for a Sr. Director of Community Development to lead our efforts in the creation of high impact open (source, standard, data, hardware) collaborative projects hosted by Linux Foundation Europe. This is a high visibility and high impact role as Linux Foundation Europe grows its presence in the region. The role will report to GM, Linux Foundation Europe.

Responsibilities

Identify, nurture, and ultimately facilitate consensus on starting new open collaborative projects under Linux Foundation Europe focused on the interests of European stakeholders. This work will be done in collaboration with the Linux Foundation project formation team across all aspects of the project, from technical to funding options, from consensus building to governance.
Maintain relationships at both the executive and technical levels with the different constituencies of the European open source ecosystem, including but not limited to the European Union and national public sectors, strategic Linux Foundation and Linux Foundation Europe members, adjacent communities, and academic institutions.
Support LF Europe General Manager in representing Linux Foundation Europe in external regional events, roundtable discussions, press engagements as well as in Linux Foundation venues like Linux Foundation Europe Advisory Board and Linux Foundation events in Europe.
Support the Linux Foundation Europe press team in external relations with the technology community, governmental entities and funders, the media, and the general public, promoting Linux Foundation Europe’s mission with these groups through proactive and reactive public relations campaigns and contacts with the media and analysts.
Support existing Linux Foundation Europe members in proposing new Linux Foundation Europe projects, as well as advise Linux Foundation Europe existing projects toward further growth and adoption in the European ecosystem.
Monitor European grant opportunities applicable for potential new or existing Linux Foundation projects in Europe and collaborate with external agencies to complete grant applications.
Understand and keep up to date with overall technology trends, identifying the potential for open source collaborations in Europe, advocating and representing LF Europe within the broader Linux Foundation strategy and direction.

Qualifications

Deep familiarity with the European and global technology landscape and trends, as well as existing open source and open standards initiatives in Europe.
Established network in the European open source ecosystem, across all constituencies of the ecosystem, from individual contributors to public and private sectors.
Ability to understand and communicate the business value of technology solutions across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Proven track record in open source community and consensus building, or direct experience in participating in open source collaborations from within complex organizations.
Familiarity with European Union funding options and existing programs, e.g., NextGeneration EU
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse groups of people, in distributed and asynchronous environments
Skilled at building relationships internally and externally to ensure win/win customer relationships.
Operates independently and demonstrates consistent success in dynamic and distributed environments where minimal supervision is required.

Existing relationships with the European Union and with key corporate open source stakeholders in Europe are a plus.
