Position overview:
OCCRP is seeking a journalist with a passion for digital storytelling who can craft intelligent, compelling social media promotion campaigns that highlight our investigations and bring them to new readers. The social media editor will be a key part of our newsroom and work closely with OCCRP’s editors to help us use social media tools to start conversations around our stories. He or she will also get to be closely involved in amplifying our investigations, driving impact that may include policy change, asset seizures, or arrests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What you’ll be doing:
TLDR — promoting our content & brand organically in public situations.
This job goes beyond developer relations (DevRel)— we need the same, but also to collaborate with the Marketing team in the field of email marketing, lifecycle email & customer data.
Specifically, this includes:
Monitoring relevant developer communities and social media (e.g. for certain keywords)
Engaging in meaningful conversations and drive relevant discussion forums (you will need technical skills)
Helping people solve their problems
Internally influence BoxyHQ product strategy by working with cross-functional teams
Building relationships with industry practitioners and customers
Apply your developer-first mentality to our fast-paced, startup environment to prioritize and create the most engaged open-source community; promoting our content (in the most organic and helpful way)

Proven track record of creating and building engagement amongst open-source developer communities
