Administrative Support Contractor Full-time

We are seeking an Administrative Support Contractor to work with our diverse and international team. This full-time remote contractor position will work with our Director of Operations and supports the general administrative functions of the Foundation including:

  • Performing a wide variety of organizing and clerical tasks.
  • Supporting bookkeeping, including bill payments and invoicing, reconciling expense reports, helping maintain our books, preparing materials for tax filing, processing payroll.
  • Scheduling and coordinating logistics for meetings, organizing and maintaining digital filing systems, organizing and managing data for donors and general mailing lists.
  • Processing travel reimbursements for members, board members, and staff attending GNOME events.
  • Supporting communications by handling inquiries from the community on a wide variety of topics with enthusiasm, positive attitude, and responsibility to completing the tasks.
  • Other tasks as needed and assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with remote-first or distributed teams
  • Experience with standard office software, such as word processors and spreadsheets
  • Experience with financial accounting software, preferably QuickBooks Online
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Fluent English

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience and familiarity with Open Source and/or Open Culture projects and organizations
  • Experience with Open Source standard office software, such as Libre Office word processor and spreadsheets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Availability during US West Coast working hours

Compensation

  • $20/hour contract position, no benefits.
